Now Meeting

Published by:

We are meeting now on Sunday morning. Have changed the meeting time to 9:30 am. (We expect that our meeting will end about 11:00 for now. Children are welcome.)

Currently we are meeting in a public place and hope to soon be meeting in a home. Both in central Cedar Park. To find out where, please either fill out the form with your name and email, or better yet, leave your name and number on this voice mail: 512-249-7629. Sorry about this extra step, but we have found through experience that we need to use wisdom with security.

Our statement of faith is posted here. All are welcomed — who want to do what we covenant together to do: worship God through Jesus & Holy Spirit, and **grow** together in healthy community and serviceful vocation, instructed by Bible and led by Holy Spirit.

A warm welcome to those who are looking for healing of spirit. A hand of fellowship to those who want to selflessly serve the Lord. The blood of Jesus for those who wish to make spiritual warfare.

Vilification or Evil Speaking – Prominent Topic for Aspiring Sons

Published by:

One of John Wesley’s most famous sermons was “The Cure of Evil Speaking.” “Evil speaking” comes from Ephesians 4: 31. Wesley translated it “vilification.” Modern Americans might say informally “speaking bad about a brother or sister in the Lord.” Wesley’s cure was Matthew 18. Once one considers the matter, one is given a great and important insight.

We know that our words matter. However, this is a point, this speaking ill of other sons/daughters that has been overlooked, forgotten, not understood, or intentionally perverted.  Far from being the ideal management tool, it is sin tantamount to blasphemy! This is vital information for any who are intending ( or eve were once intending) to mature into the Sons/’Uios of God.

Monday December 30th a Day of National Repentance – called by Dutch Sheets

Published by:

Give Him 15 – Appeal to Heaven
A Call to a National Day of Repentance on December 30
By Dutch Sheets & Karen Hardin

“After reading Dave Kubal’s article, There was a Spiritual Quid Pro Quo, my heart was grieved over the abuse of America’s power, prominence, and position that we have received from the Lord.

“Ongoing investigations reveal that American officials have been withholding financial aid to other countries for years, unless they agreed to promote abortion and the LGBTQ+ agenda to their citizens. It was OUR country that was blackmailing and bullying to spread immorality.

“While we have no idea how far-reaching these seeds were sown or grown, as a nation we are responsible for the wicked harvest that is the result.

“Now that this evil has been exposed, we are responsible to act.

“We also need to repent for the unjust impeachment of President Trump. This action was not because of his actions (despite the claims of the Democrats), but to cover up crimes and immoral actions of our government leaders. They have used their positions to force the above immorality and corruption upon our nation and other nations.

“Before we enter 2020, we need to repent and cleanse our land.

“We invite you to join us for a National Day of Repentance for our nation over what has transpired to uproot those seeds and call on the Lord to forgive us.

“Will you join us on Monday, December 30th, for a day of fasting and repentance of the evil that has been committed as we forced other countries to embrace and spread immorality and evil in exchange for financial assistance?

“We also need to repent for the spirit of pride and rebellion that has been allowed to rule our nation and shake its fist in defiance as our president was impeached by a completely partisan vote. In the end, it isn’t just President Trump they wish to remove. It is God.” (Karen Hardin)

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9; ESV)

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer (by Karen Hardin):

We need to first humble ourselves and repent.
We need to ask forgiveness for those we led astray as abortion and the LGBTQ+ agenda were forced into other nations.
We need to repent and be cleansed of the blood on our hands from the abortions traded for aid.
We need to pray that the seeds of immorality and corruption that were spread would wither and die.
We need to pray that those who perpetuated this evil will be revealed, removed from their positions, and prosecuted.
We need to cancel any partnership or alliance with the demonic realm, whether that is through an organization, a country, or an individual, and that all such partnerships will be brought to light and cancelled.
Most importantly, we need to pray for revival in our land.
A prayer you can pray (by Karen Hardin):

Father God, we humble ourselves before You and repent as a nation. Lord God, we have sinned. We have used the prominent position and blessings you have given us as a weapon to force immorality and murder upon other countries. Lord, we repent. We ask for your forgiveness.

We ask that those seeds be uprooted from other countries and our own. We speak to them now and say, “Wither and die along with any ongoing harvest.” In their place, we speak revival. We ask that you would cleanse our land and the blight we have put on other nations in which this evil was perpetuated.

Lord, we ask that those who have been involved in these heinous crimes be revealed, removed from their positions, and prosecuted. Lord, stop them from continuing any ongoing actions. We also ask that they will have a Damascus Road encounter with you and that the hardness of their hearts will be turned to hearts of flesh, tender to your Word.

Lord, we ask you to save us. We ask for your help. We repent that we have been asleep and allowed such corruption, because we were not praying for our leaders as You commanded. Lord, we thank you for our president and His stand for you. We ask that you would deliver him and deliver us from those who are intent on removing You from our nation. In Jesus’ righteous Name, amen.

Today’s decree:

We humble ourselves and ask You, Lord, to please heal and cleanse our land.

Merry Christmas and blessed new year

Published by:

Merry Christmas!

We are under orders LOL from Pastor Mahesh to wallow in Christmas! I saw one of those Christmas movies for the first time. I hear he likes them. Wow! it was heart warming. So nice. If you are alone, do that. And then see, you will want to give cookies or go out to eat with someone else. We need to learn how to love.

Blessed new year to you too. The word I gave on my Learning Disabilities podcast and will give on my Friday night prayer meeting (Facebook on Promoting God’s Kingdom (not my page)) is 2020. This will be a year when whatever you are looking at you should be seeing more clearly. This is a blessing, an encouragement, and also an admonishment to go DO something about it.

Hope we see your face soon. We are learning how to love. Calling in people who want to be formed as a disciple of Jesus. (You know, don’t you, that calling means going out, too? Those disciples of Jesus became his Apostles. That is the way it works.)

Love and blessings.

What We Would Like to Do

Published by:

1. Love people – really. So, rather than programmatic stuff, I envision home groups where we do relationships.

2. Authentic worship. We have enough concerts, but we need some real praise and worship. It might take some courage; it might take some healing. Whatever it takes, let’s have it.

3. Discipleship/Personal Development/Spiritual Maturity — meaning really becoming the people we want to be to be good friends, good parents, and standup contributors in whatever walk of life we are in. Let it not be published in Gath that the shamans interviewed on podcasts look like they are ahead of the church here. Discipleship is not an Inquirers’ Class; it is not a Connect Group. It is living out your maximum, no-limits destiny in God that wants to deploy you in the most awesome ways. It is also death-to-(lower)self and alive in God, risen & seated with Him. it is actually doing stuff!

Reaching Out

Published by:

I have observed  4 things:

  1. Most people need to feel love. Indeed, I think much of the younger generation has given up on it, they are so starved. Yet they are still interested in spiritual things.
  2. One hundred and fifty people a day (150) are coming into Austin and have been for years, yet churches are not being planted or growing at that same rate.
  3. Nascent leadership is not being nurtured or welcomed.
  4. In almost none of the churches is there any attempt to disciple anyone.

Yet, Jesus clearly said to disciple all people groups, to invite (KJV compel) people to come to dinner, that the five-fold ministry is for equipping people to do the work of the ministry, and that we should pray for the Lord to send harvesters.

So the Lord has given us a plan for addressing this matter. I am calling for nascent leaders and hurt leaders and turned away leaders to gather and  fix this in our town. It is time now for healing and relaunching.  We have a plan for multiplication. Let’s start with a matrix of love and discipleship. Praying earnestly for partners and sons&daughters — leaders to be launched and re-launched.

John Wesley Preached Perfection

Published by:

John Wesley, Anglican clergyman and movement founder and ultimately founder of the Methodist traditions, did teach that perfection was possible. He is the first person, I believe, to preach such a thing. It was controversial. However, we have his published writings on the topic. Indeed, we have a a series of writing, so we can find out what he had to say, be inspired and be corrected by it.

He defined perfection as being without sin. People thought a great deal more about sin then than we did now. So “sinless perfection” issued later in the holiness movement. Wesley outlined in what way we could expect to be perfect. He very much had urged against judgmentalness. His method seemed to be devotion. He was not preaching legalism! Quite the reverse!

The Latter Rain and the Same Fife Move of God were informed from the holiness movement, but not much from Wesley. Therefore, in order to re-preach sonship, faithfully, fully, Biblicaly, and within orthodoxy, we should start with what John Wesley had to say.

Prayer Meeting on Friday Evening

Published by:

We have been on the quiet side. First, our Wednesday am women’s group started moving around to accommodate one we were trying to help. Then I was dealing with a family issue.  We are ready to stir up again. Particularly, I’ve been for a long time searching for a Friday night prayer meeting. Clearly, our nation needs prayer. It is time for us to join hands across denominations and pray. Well, if no one is going to do it, I am. Please contact me for address.

ANNOUNCEMENT: NOW PRAYING ON FACEBOOK, PROMOTING GOD’S KINGDOM AT 7:00PM

Lots more is coming.

BTW, every website gets a lot of spam. I notice this website has started to get spam, but of a particular character: occultic! We will take that as confirmation that we are making a difference. Derek Prince taught, as do his proteges, the Chavdas that such resistance is a time to rejoice. It means that the spirit realm sense God is planning great things. In any case, we believe that Jesus is Lord of all. Don’t you? Don’t you want that kind of God, the kind that lives, dies, and lives again for you?

Comparisons with other religions

Christianity is The Better Way

Published by:

We are now to Hebrews in our quick fly-over of the New Testament. The theme of Hebrews is “now we have a better covenant.”(See Heb 1:4, 7:22, 8:6 , 9;23, 10:34, 11:16, 11:40, 12>24>)The writer is comparing the new way through Jesus, the new covenant based on grace through faith, with the covenant God made through Moses, based on the Mosaic Law. Actually, that covenant was of grace too. The Jews understand it that way. Nevertheless, it requires the keeping of the law. Yet, we have better promises. We are required only to believer, to trust in, to rely on Jesus (Ep.2:8&9) and his finished work (jn7:14, Hb 4:3). And of course, that belief issues forth in good works (Ep2:10, Titus2:17). Indeed, Christ lives through us to do these good works (Gal2:21).

If the faith way of Jesus is better than that of the grace covenant brought to the people of Israel, how much more than the other ways to God offered. And lots better than nothing at all!

Hinduism has gurus who suggest that they can bring you back to union with God if you follow them through thousands of lifetimes. But how can you tell they are telling your the truth? Buddha said he did not know about the supernatural, but will offer you right living now. Even should you find someone who actually teaches what Buddha actually taught, and doesn’t mix it with stuff Buddha didn’t know about, can you really follow that? The best Buddhist students I know of stay in their room on the day they promise not to hurt anything. In Islam, you will find out just after you die if your good deeds outweigh your bad deeds. Trouble is that many verses in the Koran contradict others. What is taught as the path toward the best reward sound to everyone else as doing what is most bad, most universally condemned. You know: the seven virgins on seven sheet thing. After you left your body, remember. Then there are some animist ways, which in the USA are idealized from movies about Native Americans, however, from Asia and Africa where people follow these ways, we hear of stories of gross fear and degradation. (I am reading about them in Mountain Rain from China and Burma, but I am hearing stories from my students today. They are afraid of demons attacking them, and not without experience.)

God’s way of love, peace and joy, based on Jesus’ finished work, taken by faith, and walked out with a community sounds like the best offer to me!

So you think that Christianity makes you do a lot of stuff?!?!?!?! Poppycock. How would you like to have no path and just have to figure out what works? That is not good. How would you like to have a way of acesticism, following some guru through thousands of lifetimes — maybe? How would you like a religion that sees women as chattel? and violence as a way to heaven? How is Buddhism working out in the lands where it is regnant? For all the good claims of Buddhsim, for which it is loved in the US, like compassion and peace, how does it look like in the army of Myanmar? Or the passivity of the orders in China? Or the prosperity and restraint in the rest of Asia?

That is a very personal argument. Christianity gives guidance, restrains the community from harming the individual, gives the best offer with the least requirements — by far. It is only logical to follow.

Let’s use the sociological argument. Where in the world did equality, democracy, and economic prosperity arise? In the specifically Christian world. See Rodney Stark’s sociological history the Victory of Reason for a fulsome explanation.

Another sociological argument is : where are women treated the best? Liberalism came from Christianity.

Jesus makes the best offer. It is only reasonable to follow Him. Christianity is the community that makes the most sense, even allowing for faults of the actual people in it, even with it’s organizational blunders. It is the better covenant.

To go one/s own way, with no path, is crazy. To suggest that you shouldn’t take part in restraining yourself, is a fool’s errand, because then you will live with others who don’t restrain themselves. Or you will be entirely by yourself. If demons and goblins are frightening, then why not ally with the great good power that dominates them and sweeps them away? If you can’t understand all religions, then why not accept the one that is so simple?

Use reason. Or is your reasoning capacity so perverted by your lies that you don’t see this? Then use heart. Feel Jesus’ heart, and your friends, reaching out to you. Or has your heart not been formed to distinguish between good and bad? Isn’t that scary? Do you want to be without love? To be hard-hearted? To be confused? You must choose, because to not choose is to choose. Choose life. Choose the better covenant.

It is an amazing thing that the God of all good, all love, all truth, would want to have a covenant with you, a mere mortal. Choose life. Choose good. Choose love. Follow Jesus.

Maturity Sonship

“Sons of God” shows up in Scripture

Published by:

WOW! I recently found out that ” ‘uois” the Greek work for mature sons shows up in Scripture 7 times. AMAZING. And with all the preaching I have heard on sonship doctrine, I never heard this. Have you? If you are new to sonship doctrine, this will establish what is up — that there are …

Well, I will get back to you on that. there might be more.

Anyway, let’s study those instances I did find.
