Kinds of Prayer, Starting with Petition and Intercession

Published by:

So, I did a series on kinds of prayer. I have 8 categories. All the other lists I found were incomplete.

I know I typed this out,but I also know you are not seeing. And right now, neither am I.

Anyway, the first category is petition and intercession (which is petition for someone else).

It is good. You will like it. And people who are old hat with the sonship doctrine I can tell, will find this useful too.

Ever Want to Pray with More Authority?

Published by:

Today, I cover several scriptures that show our authority IN Christ.  We started out, as humans, given dominion. Then, as disciples of Jesus, we were given authority as we follow Jesus and do His assignment. Then, we see David and Isaiah’s words on our authority. Amazing! Give a listen.

Then memorize the Scripture by meditating.

Then, you will have some real “amunition” in prayer.

Next week: different kinds of prayer…. and what about that “decreeing and declaring”?

You Can Ask… the Lord… And Get an Answer

Published by:

You CAN ask.. the Lord… and get an answer. Now that is really good news. Unlike the “you can ask” I got from some woman, when it was evident both that I knew and that I could NOT ask the authorities…. who didn’t know, showed that… and thus would have been highly insecure and offended and dangerous for being “asked’!  But this, no, this is a revelation. I got it from some guy teaching Sunday school. He asked God about his walk with the Lord! How wonderful!

In so many situations, we need direction. And who can give it to us? The Lord God is the one who knows. The Lord God Holy Spirit is the one sent to teach us. Let’s ask!

What would it mean to be like Jesus?

Published by:

Very surprisingly, I have never heard or seen someone take the life of Jesus, and make a list of what he did and apply that to what maybe we should do. Wow!

What would it mean to be like Jesus? It takes a real step-up of faith to consider that we might be perfected, but we also have to  consider what Jesus was like! …. oooooh and is like! Wow!

Okay, so let’s try that.  Let’s go down the list and find out what would it mean to be like Jesus?

  1. First, he was a obedient, good child, learned the Torah, took care of his family. Check. I think the church knows this.
  2. He got baptized, answered his calling, and went to the wilderness to pray.  Okay. First, Wesley and most people who believe we might be holy believe that would be on the basis of prayer and worship. A few people are following this. One group I know of focused on obedience, submission and going to the wilderness to heighten that. Interesting. That has been done. Maybe everyone needs a wilderness experience to overcome their own personal demons.
  3. Then Jesus began his ministry, proclaiming : “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.”  There are few people willing to lead prayers of repentance. There are a few people willing to preach Kingdom.
  4. Then he went out healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, and raising the dead, doing good, releasing people from the bondage of the devil. Some of the church has a vision of this. We have a lot of work to do.
  5. Jesus went to the cross and raised again. This is not to be repeated in order to earn our salvation. We identify with Him in His death, burial and resurrection. We signify that we we are baptized. However, we should arm ourselves with that mindset. We live for others. We find that is a glorious, fulfilling life. We were meant for this.
  6. One more thing. Jesus said, “greater works than these.”  What would that be?  We are not yet to the “healed them all” yet. Jesus did that; he healed all who came to him.  So far, I don’t think we are having many meetings were everyone gets healed. People are being raised from the dead mostly in Africa, but I have heard of an instance hear.
  7.  But what would greater works be?  Kingdom fulfillment — on a wide scale.  Not just a soul here or there, but systemic salvation, love and peace. Ultimate good. Imagine that. Eden restored — or better, even grown up.
  8. We, like him, come on a colt, a foal. He will come one day as Judge on a White Horse; God will let us know. For now, we still come as suffering servants with healing in our hands, in sheepfolds, in carpenter shops, and in cesear’s household.

It is a great mystery, a great revelation.   I invite you. It makes all of life meaningful, rich, better than anything else.

Secrets of Authority in Prayer

Published by:

Every Saturday, we have a video of Kevin Zadai. The topic is how to start — and win a war on the devil. If you ever wondered how to “get ahead” in the Spirit, you will like these meetings. First tip was to pray in tongues. This can clear your neighborhood! (Meaning that demons will leave — not that people will think you are crazy. You will understand when you hear Kevin Zadai’s stories.) Just 30 minutes of video, 30 minutes of discussion and prayer, and a little time of fellowship. Start at 6:00pm in Cedar Park. Call 512-249-7629 or email PastorSharon@JesusNameAustin.org. Since we meet in a private home, we want to know who is coming.

Time to Pray, Seriously.

Published by:

As I learn more about what is going on, I see it is not just mere stupidity. It is very serious. Deception. To enslave.
Please try to rouse yourself from sleep and start really praying. Pray what? Wheels off the chariots. Church arising, filled with Holy Spirit to the max. Pray for everyone around you, your family and everyone. Pray their eyes are opened. Pray they make Jesus their Lord and their Savior.
Then, I recommend you witness to them. Other kinds of teaching, until after being born again, might be fruitless. Listen to the leading of the Lord. Use your faith to get the gift of faith, to hear well, and for salvations.

Chariot Wheels Falling Off

Published by:

We had difficulties with Zooming today.
So, I recorded the meeting, pretty much like it would have been had we met via Zoom.
This won’t stay up … gone now.

BTW, very happy that my theme has been verified prophetically. Other, bigger “men of God” have been referring to the chariot wheels coming off. Praise God .. So good to not only protect us but to speak to us… and consistently so. And so very important in this hour. Thank you, Lord!

We will have words and pix with the music from now on when using Zoom. Sorry for that lack before. BTW, discovered that our problems Sunday were because of a glitch that Zoom had. Oh my! on Sunday? Guess we had better pray for tech and for tech protection.

Hoping to be back live on Pentecost Sunday. That is May 31. Hope it will be a potluck party. Stay tuned for an announcement.
Then after that, hoping for personal evangelism.

SUNDAY APRIL 5TH Prayer Points, Sermon Summary, & Zoom Help

Published by:

PRAYER POINTS
Please pray for our leaders, especially the President and Vice-President: that they make good decisions, have good counsel, and supernatural stamina
Let’s pray for the front line health care workers. Some are overworked because of the virus, almost all out of policy, and many are frightened. Many are without the supplies they need. Soon we will have many who have graduated without the full education that normally they would have had.
Let’s pray for each other. Each is undergoing their own challenges. Often we can pray in more faith for others.
Please add this seriously to your list: pray for the oversight of the Treasury. I have now had it confirmed that there has been an important change. Probably different things are intended by different people. Let’s pray that God’s will prevails. Really.

SERMON SUMMARY
Fly over the book of Zechariah : 8 visions, answer to deputation, and 4 chapters on the ultimate victory of God’s Kingdom. Amazing how there are layers of truth: true in Z’s day, true in Jesus time on earth, and true coming up.
Message for now: clearly “return to me.” God intends for our good, even in this time of trouble and shaking.
What we should do : seek God by spending at least 30 minutes a day quiet time. Scripture memory verse: Zec 4:6.
Focus on new understanding of the vision of Joshua, new garments. Joshua, the High Priest of that day and Zerubabel, the secular ruler of that day, served the Lord. So we, as 2 ennd-time companies serve both in the church and in secular vocations. We know about having filthy garments changed, and thoughts protected in a time of lots of confusion and deception.
Focus on the KIND of leadership Jesus, the ultimate Shepherd exerts in the entrance on a donkey, rather than a war horse.
Awesome that we have an important part in the grand drama of the ages. To do: look to Jesus, be kind, do our assignments. This we knew, but now endowed with Spirit and ultimate meaning.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Service this Friday at 7:00p. See below for other options.
2. Not able at this time to post the sermon from Zoom. It is possible, but too much time consumption and not very good quality.
3. We are having connectivity issues. I have blazing fast speed and have never had issues until this week. It is clear at this point it is not merely one set of servers. So, let’s all be patient.
I will post the audio only of today’s service, if I can edit out the personal mentions (like who was there and who was not and why.) Let’s pray we are all back together eating well soon. Oops, not good quality and not so easy.

TUTORIAL:
If you come on Zoom, check your mic and speaker, either when you have the option in the entering process. Alternatively, if you in the meeting, notice the up arrow next to the mic symbol on the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Some of us have to select WHICH mic to use.
If you have low bandwidth, then select only audio and don’t try to do visual. If you have visual only, try typing. Notice the bar at the bottom. Notice there is a chat symbol. Select that. Then you will see a column on the right side for chat. Notice at the bottom of that column is a space to write in. Notice that you can write to everybody or to just one person.
If you have visual and are confused, can’t hear, want to agree or not, use sign language. But we should conquer Zoom soon. There are short videos, and good ones, on the Zoom site. There are more on Youtube.

Communion on Demand

Published by:

HI yall.
Well, we are transitioning to be able to meet virtually, through technology. I’m learning and you are too, probably. Perry Stone says revival will come through the lense of a camera. I hope it does, especially for him. He just had thousands of youth watching a set of meetings that couldn’t be held at his building.

Online communion in normal times might not make sense, but it seems to make sense today. Here is the link for you to use. We will say we are meeting, if asynchronously. Be blessed; be encouraged. Overtake all. LOL
