What would it mean to be like Jesus?

Published by:

Very surprisingly, I have never heard or seen someone take the life of Jesus, and make a list of what he did and apply that to what maybe we should do. Wow!

What would it mean to be like Jesus? It takes a real step-up of faith to consider that we might be perfected, but we also have to  consider what Jesus was like! …. oooooh and is like! Wow!

Okay, so let’s try that.  Let’s go down the list and find out what would it mean to be like Jesus?

  1. First, he was a obedient, good child, learned the Torah, took care of his family. Check. I think the church knows this.
  2. He got baptized, answered his calling, and went to the wilderness to pray.  Okay. First, Wesley and most people who believe we might be holy believe that would be on the basis of prayer and worship. A few people are following this. One group I know of focused on obedience, submission and going to the wilderness to heighten that. Interesting. That has been done. Maybe everyone needs a wilderness experience to overcome their own personal demons.
  3. Then Jesus began his ministry, proclaiming : “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.”  There are few people willing to lead prayers of repentance. There are a few people willing to preach Kingdom.
  4. Then he went out healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, and raising the dead, doing good, releasing people from the bondage of the devil. Some of the church has a vision of this. We have a lot of work to do.
  5. Jesus went to the cross and raised again. This is not to be repeated in order to earn our salvation. We identify with Him in His death, burial and resurrection. We signify that we we are baptized. However, we should arm ourselves with that mindset. We live for others. We find that is a glorious, fulfilling life. We were meant for this.
  6. One more thing. Jesus said, “greater works than these.”  What would that be?  We are not yet to the “healed them all” yet. Jesus did that; he healed all who came to him.  So far, I don’t think we are having many meetings were everyone gets healed. People are being raised from the dead mostly in Africa, but I have heard of an instance hear.
  7.  But what would greater works be?  Kingdom fulfillment — on a wide scale.  Not just a soul here or there, but systemic salvation, love and peace. Ultimate good. Imagine that. Eden restored — or better, even grown up.
  8. We, like him, come on a colt, a foal. He will come one day as Judge on a White Horse; God will let us know. For now, we still come as suffering servants with healing in our hands, in sheepfolds, in carpenter shops, and in cesear’s household.

It is a great mystery, a great revelation.   I invite you. It makes all of life meaningful, rich, better than anything else.

Daily Morning Prayer — With Spirit, Power, Heart. AMAZING

Published by:

Every day, M-Th, I pray with Robert Henderson and his sons and close friends — via internet.

This is an amazing time of awesome presence of God, and real power, and surprisingly or not, deep repentance. I’ve been blown away by the depth and the heigth. Of course, we go to the courtroom of God to get some verdicts.  Of course we pray for families, and nations.  It is great.

Last Sunday, we watched Radiant Church online, with Robert Henderson preaching.

You can watch along, via internet, or if you are interested in having some community on Sunday, watching together, etc. let me know. We can arrange it.  PastorSharon@NOSPAMJesusNameAustin.org.

Options online: GPEC.world,  Youtube.com or Facebook.com    and look for Radiant church Waco   …. or  ….. Robert Henderson Ministries.

Jesus Name Austin? What are your plans?

Published by:

OUR MISSION

The name “Jesus Name” was chosen for 2 reasons: 1)  because we want to focus on Jesus and 2) we want to represent Jesus. Too often other concerns, even good ones have eclipsed the worship and the representation of Jesus.  Lots of things are great. Service, maturity of character, and doctrine are great, interesting, often helpful. However, even those things, if they drown out the focus on praying, worshiping and following Jesus, become unhelpful or possibly even harmful and twisted.  “Jesus Name” makes us think of our authority in prayer. It makes us think of our ambassador ship for Christ. We represent people to God and God to people. We will start in the north Austin MSA. That is our mission; here are our plans.

Jesus Name prayer is full of faith; Jesus Name prayer is in authority; Jesus Name prayer is effective; Jesus name prayer will represent others to the Lord; Jesus name prayer is fun and joyful.

I have said, only half jokingly, that one day someone who is stoned is going to look up Jesus’ name in the phone book and get us. That guy or gal won’t be looking up the name of a denomination or church, but Jesus. I hope we can be ready and able to help on that day. Given the charge to go forth in Jesus’ Name, I pray we can represent Jesus well.

OUR PLANS – COME MEET WITH US

Until then, we need to prepare to represent Jesus by knowing more about  Him. To that end, we are going to study the Bible in our weekly meeting. For now, that is Sunday morning in Cedar Park.  We are studying some exclusive content from Kevin Zadai on Saturday evening 6:00-7:30. Yes, Zadai has a lot of content online, but this content is available only to approved Warrior House Churches. If you are interested in learning more about spiritual things, contact me for the place. We also hope to become in reality a House of Prayer. Robert Henderson’s definition of a House of Prayer is a group in covenant with God and with each other who can represent cultures to God, or in other words, pray effectively on larger matters than individual and family.  If you want to know more about that, please read Henderson’s books and join with us in his midweek services 7:00p CT Radiant Church, M-Th daily prayer 6:20a online or on GPEC.world app.)  We also join with Pastors Drs. Mahesh and Bonnie Chavda’s prayer meeting Friday evening 6:30pET online at ChavdaMinistries.org.

So, whether you want to join virtually or be part of the real community face to face Saturday and Sundays, please join us. (Sunday meetings will be in alignment with GPEC/Robert Henderson but that does not mean we will teach ONLY on the Courts of Heaven. See lots of books here. )

Being a true mature, serving Christian is like being a priest: you represent God to people and people to God. In other words, you put people in touch with God. That has always been my idea of what ministry should be.

CURRENT PLANS TO SERVE

Our plans are to engage in some one on one evangelism, again now with the theme of prayer. We will ask others if they wish us to pray for them, what they wish prayed for, and would they like us to do it on the spot. Then, if they are interested, they can be invited to the meetings or be given information on this website. So, there is no control, no pushiness, no “micro-aggression” — just service and a demonstration of love. Giving what we have. If you would like to join in that endeavor, please contact me.

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

In  the farther future, we hope to have a cross congregational, interdenominational H of P for leaders, but we are going to be sure our house is in order, and we are more strongly knowlegable about the prayer protocol for that. I mention this future hope in case you are very interested in politics or governmental matters, and are hoping for an opportunity like this. I have been looking for 15 years here, because some friends do this in another city. Alas. Apparently some strong spiritual resistance to this.  However, if this is your interest, then you need to be getting up to speed on the House of Prayer protocols that Jesus Name Austin is learning about. Get online and learn from Henderson/GPEC and contact us. Be sure you have the basics covered and are known to us.

Come out! Comment below or Email me at PastorSharon@JesusnNameAustin.org.

Secrets of Authority in Prayer

Published by:

Every Saturday, we have a video of Kevin Zadai. The topic is how to start — and win a war on the devil. If you ever wondered how to “get ahead” in the Spirit, you will like these meetings. First tip was to pray in tongues. This can clear your neighborhood! (Meaning that demons will leave — not that people will think you are crazy. You will understand when you hear Kevin Zadai’s stories.) Just 30 minutes of video, 30 minutes of discussion and prayer, and a little time of fellowship. Start at 6:00pm in Cedar Park. Call 512-249-7629 or email PastorSharon@JesusNameAustin.org. Since we meet in a private home, we want to know who is coming.

Time to Pray, Seriously.

Published by:

As I learn more about what is going on, I see it is not just mere stupidity. It is very serious. Deception. To enslave.
Please try to rouse yourself from sleep and start really praying. Pray what? Wheels off the chariots. Church arising, filled with Holy Spirit to the max. Pray for everyone around you, your family and everyone. Pray their eyes are opened. Pray they make Jesus their Lord and their Savior.
Then, I recommend you witness to them. Other kinds of teaching, until after being born again, might be fruitless. Listen to the leading of the Lord. Use your faith to get the gift of faith, to hear well, and for salvations.

Chariot Wheels Falling Off

Published by:

We had difficulties with Zooming today.
So, I recorded the meeting, pretty much like it would have been had we met via Zoom.
This won’t stay up … gone now.

BTW, very happy that my theme has been verified prophetically. Other, bigger “men of God” have been referring to the chariot wheels coming off. Praise God .. So good to not only protect us but to speak to us… and consistently so. And so very important in this hour. Thank you, Lord!

We will have words and pix with the music from now on when using Zoom. Sorry for that lack before. BTW, discovered that our problems Sunday were because of a glitch that Zoom had. Oh my! on Sunday? Guess we had better pray for tech and for tech protection.

Hoping to be back live on Pentecost Sunday. That is May 31. Hope it will be a potluck party. Stay tuned for an announcement.
Then after that, hoping for personal evangelism.

SUNDAY APRIL 5TH Prayer Points, Sermon Summary, & Zoom Help

Published by:

PRAYER POINTS
Please pray for our leaders, especially the President and Vice-President: that they make good decisions, have good counsel, and supernatural stamina
Let’s pray for the front line health care workers. Some are overworked because of the virus, almost all out of policy, and many are frightened. Many are without the supplies they need. Soon we will have many who have graduated without the full education that normally they would have had.
Let’s pray for each other. Each is undergoing their own challenges. Often we can pray in more faith for others.
Please add this seriously to your list: pray for the oversight of the Treasury. I have now had it confirmed that there has been an important change. Probably different things are intended by different people. Let’s pray that God’s will prevails. Really.

SERMON SUMMARY
Fly over the book of Zechariah : 8 visions, answer to deputation, and 4 chapters on the ultimate victory of God’s Kingdom. Amazing how there are layers of truth: true in Z’s day, true in Jesus time on earth, and true coming up.
Message for now: clearly “return to me.” God intends for our good, even in this time of trouble and shaking.
What we should do : seek God by spending at least 30 minutes a day quiet time. Scripture memory verse: Zec 4:6.
Focus on new understanding of the vision of Joshua, new garments. Joshua, the High Priest of that day and Zerubabel, the secular ruler of that day, served the Lord. So we, as 2 ennd-time companies serve both in the church and in secular vocations. We know about having filthy garments changed, and thoughts protected in a time of lots of confusion and deception.
Focus on the KIND of leadership Jesus, the ultimate Shepherd exerts in the entrance on a donkey, rather than a war horse.
Awesome that we have an important part in the grand drama of the ages. To do: look to Jesus, be kind, do our assignments. This we knew, but now endowed with Spirit and ultimate meaning.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Service this Friday at 7:00p. See below for other options.
2. Not able at this time to post the sermon from Zoom. It is possible, but too much time consumption and not very good quality.
3. We are having connectivity issues. I have blazing fast speed and have never had issues until this week. It is clear at this point it is not merely one set of servers. So, let’s all be patient.
I will post the audio only of today’s service, if I can edit out the personal mentions (like who was there and who was not and why.) Let’s pray we are all back together eating well soon. Oops, not good quality and not so easy.

TUTORIAL:
If you come on Zoom, check your mic and speaker, either when you have the option in the entering process. Alternatively, if you in the meeting, notice the up arrow next to the mic symbol on the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Some of us have to select WHICH mic to use.
If you have low bandwidth, then select only audio and don’t try to do visual. If you have visual only, try typing. Notice the bar at the bottom. Notice there is a chat symbol. Select that. Then you will see a column on the right side for chat. Notice at the bottom of that column is a space to write in. Notice that you can write to everybody or to just one person.
If you have visual and are confused, can’t hear, want to agree or not, use sign language. But we should conquer Zoom soon. There are short videos, and good ones, on the Zoom site. There are more on Youtube.

Communion on Demand

Published by:

HI yall.
Well, we are transitioning to be able to meet virtually, through technology. I’m learning and you are too, probably. Perry Stone says revival will come through the lense of a camera. I hope it does, especially for him. He just had thousands of youth watching a set of meetings that couldn’t be held at his building.

Online communion in normal times might not make sense, but it seems to make sense today. Here is the link for you to use. We will say we are meeting, if asynchronously. Be blessed; be encouraged. Overtake all. LOL

Ideas for Being/Having Church While Complying with Executive Order Not to Meeting in Large Groups

Published by:

I’ve been thinking house church, not because something is great about houses and certainly not great to have no educated, dedicated leadership. Rather, I’ve been thinking that we need to focus on evangelism, discipleship, and leadership building rather than merely infra-structure. Looks now like many people might re-think how to do church precisely because they can’t use the large building they have. However, you all do have other infrastructure to use.

What will you do? Just heard that one church, because the pastor has the tech savvy is now online. He also has appointed leaders over sections of the congregation for helps, support, and accountability. Thus, everyone will be taken care of. Churches that have “small groups” can use that structure to be sure everyone is taken care of. Some small groups will have to fission. Pastoral staff can stay in touch with the small group leaders, supplying them with more material. Watch parties could arise.

There should particularly be some appointments to see after “widows and orphans” — in our culture, the elderly and the very poor. Some people can not work from home. Older people may have trouble with the restrictions. Please watch out for your congregation.

However, what about people down the block? On the one hand, I have a report that neighbors have already snitched on Christian groups, and called the police when it appeared that more than 10 people were meeting. This is really amazing since the executive order went in Friday at 2:30p and I am writing this Saturday 7:00p! Somebody was quick to turn Christians in. And in Texas. And in a fairly small town! At any rate, it is a good time to check on your family, friends, and neighbors to see if they are okay. My next door neighbors are members of a very large church nearby that couldn’t meet last Sunday. They could never fit under the 250 rule! So my neighbors joined the handful of people in my living room.

Now, their church probably thinks that this will be a 3 week interruption. Well the tech savvy pastor mentioned above hopes so too. I have no word from God on that. However, I know that in the natural, there is no reason to think so. The President mentioned August in his remarks. So, pastors, please go ahead and move on this now.

We are thankful for those who stream, and for those who have added ‘casts. There is a lot of word and worship available. It really is not hard to start. Facebook requires only an account, a camera and a microphone and you can cast. Streaming is better, but takes a bit more. Ask your sound man. Remember, nothing electronic is private, but Facebook perhaps the least of all.

A pastor friend of mine prophesied in January that this year would be a year of interruption, particularly of public school. that has happened. Now he is saying “reset.” Yes, I believe I heard that somewhere else. Churches who are mostly just shows and expect people to come just a couple of times a month, after 4 months may not find themselves with much congregation. However, on fire Christians will surely see this as a wake-up call and it will renew and revive them. Squashing meetings down to 10 will … we will see.

The most motivating thing I heard just now on my round of telephone calls, was a pastor who said he was spending his days in travailing prayer. Let’s do more praying and more listening to God! We prayed in repentance for the nation last week. Let’s pray in repentance for the church this week.
